A Nature Cultural Fellowship project exploring how stories passed between generations in Gojjam carry ecological knowledge, and how that knowledge can be revived.
Voices of the Land was carried out under the Nature Cultural Fellowship 2025. The project works with intergenerational storytelling in Gojjam, north-western Ethiopia, treating folktales, proverbs and lived memory as archives of ecological wisdom.
By bringing elders and young people into conversation, the project asks how oral tradition can strengthen environmental awareness and cultural continuity in a rapidly changing landscape.
